In an election outcome that will rock the American establishment and set a bold new course for the United States, Donald J. Trump was declared President-elect shortly before 3:00 am eastern (Pennsylvania put Trump over the finish line) in what will surely go down as one of the greatest political upsets ever.
“I will be president for all Americans,” the blue collar billionaire vowed in a humble, graceful victory speech before supporters in New York.
The Washington outsider’s victory is a repudiation of the political and media elite, the status quo, and the “progressive”, globalist agenda.
A new type of American leadership is emerging.
“No dream is too big. No challenge is too great. Nothing we want for our future is beyond reach…we must reclaim our country’s destiny and dream big and bold and daring,” Trump declared.
“For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country. As I’ve said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement, made up of millions of hard-working men and women who love their country and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their family.”
Trump will also have the support of a Republican majority in both the Senate and the House. Controlling Congress and the White House will let the GOP swiftly pass legislation that reverses many of President Obama’s policies that have suffocated the business sector in recent years.
Dow futures tumbled more than 800 points and Gold shot up by more than $50 an ounce as it became clear that Trump was positioned for victory. However, market jitters appeared to be put at ease with Trump’s Reaganesque speech that clearly struck the right tone in his first address as President-elect.
and the V-Shaped recovery began overnight.. oil was down 2 bucks now even.. like holy crapola!!! lets hope gold can hold 1300…what a ride!!

Trump played this like a true politician – sells the people by pulling on their heart strings then the minute he’s elected he’s all politician – I don’t expect to see much change he will change his colours and fit in with the rest of Washington – he pretty much states that in his acceptance speech by reaching out the to republicans he stepped on for their help. Gotta hand it to him, well played. All that reality TV experience sure helped his acting.

Why trump won Florida. I have some first hand history from this. It was close with broward county waiting to come in. Broward county is a democratic section of florida. (Miami area, all Latino’s). I was there in April. Talked to a Peruvian lady working in a gas station. She talked her displeasure about Cuban’s getting automatic citizenship as soon as their feet touch american soil. The Latino community in Miami is outraged over this. They knew trump would correct this. Broward county threw Hillary out to the wolves and voted Trump.

Yes, agree President-elect Trump’s speech was smart and helpful. Change is good. Jon, now that WRR has released results (nice numbers at that) and 4200m of 6000m to take place, i would be interested in your/BMR analysis of the results and the charts moving forward. Clearly new level of support and curious about new levels of resistance.
Thanks kindly
Foz

Indeed, they have spoken…Hillary’s “basket of deplorables” revolted big-time, a lesson she and other elitist politicians should never forget…Trump has a chance to be one of the greatest transformational Presidents in American history, a lot of raw talent and a new way of looking at things as a businessman and non-politician…people need to give him a chance – he deserves that after what the media and others have put him through…

I am having a hard time in not thinking a billionaire who grew up with a silver spoon living a life in excess (trump tower) with a model is not elitist?
Comment by Mmurphy — November 9, 2016 @ 7:25 am
Completely agree murphy

Hi Jon, thanks, I see an update forthcoming on WRR in morning musings….

I think a lot of the wannabe Celebrity Apprentices who voted for Trump will rue their votes.
Everything he has said has been chosen only to garner votes to be elected and to further his narcissism. He has no program. His economic proposals are a cipher other than to give a ton of money back to the 1% like himself and then proceed with the magical thinking that things will be ‘great’. What’s needed instead, is to take money from the super elite and give some breaks to the middle class so they can afford to buy things.
The Democrats inherited a world economic fiasco, in danger of complete collapse, and have done pretty well, in spite of Republican complete stonewalling. The world economy is in a fragile, dangerous state. Lets’s hope that with a Trump return to gilded age economics and unclear threats to world trade, that we don’t wind up with a D. Hoover Trump.
Foreign policy wise it gets worse—the reason dozens of former Republican foreign policy people were against him. There are many powder kegs developing in the world and you expect this guy to handle things in a calm, rational manner?
To the Canadian Trumpsters–nuclear fallout wouldn’t stop at the border.

Well put Carl – “Everything he has said has been chosen only to garner votes to be elected and to further his narcissism”
and the people fell for it hook line and sinker.
